Trying to edit the cmdline from menu.c32 or vesamenu.c32 (using the TAB key) results in a garbaged display.
In EFI, in addition to having to use: MENU RESOLUTION 1024 768 in syslinux.cfg for vesamenu.c32 in EFI so to be able to see the command line after pressing TAB from a selected vesamenu item, the MENU CLEAR directive only moves the cursor to home (upper-left corner of the screen if there is no 'MENU HSHIFT', 'MENU VSHIFT' or similar directives), but it does not actually clear the screen; e.g. it leaves residual text that was previously present on the screen. Pressing Ctrl+L behaves the same as MENU CLEAR, leaving remnants. The combination of an inadequate screen resolution in vesamenu EFI with the leftovers produces the "dirty display". Regards, Ady.
